Great Food & Beer Fests Around Chester County

It’s almost Fall, but before we start prepping our spooky decorations and beer-steins for Oktoberfest, there’s plenty of incredible food and beer festivities surrounding the Philadelphia/Chester County area that will definitely light up your taste buds. We just hope our daily deliveries don’t get in the way of having fun, so we’ve included an event for just about every weekend in September to keep you busy, fed and having fun this September.

Click on the name of the event to attend its corresponding website.

32nd Annual Mushroom Festival
September 9-10 in Kennett Square, PA
Kennett Square’s “number one cash crop” celebrates its 32nd annual festival at this yearly event. The event stretches nearly a mile long and features culinary events, growing exhibits, kids entertainment and over 250 vendors. In addition to hundreds of food and drink vendors, the 2017 event will also feature an antique/classic car show, a mushroom run, and the official 2017 National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship!

Chester County Restaurant Festival
September 17 in West Chester, PA
Occupying the two central streets in West Chester, the Restaurant Festival is an enjoyable event for all ages with over 65 restaurants, caterers and food vendors participating. In addition to the food, the event hosts hundreds of arts and crafts vendors, 3 stages for live music, and the return of the Church Street Beer & Wine Garden. Rain date: September 24th.

Philly’s Cheesesteak & Food Fest

September 23 in Philadelphia, PA
Hosted at the Phillies stadium, Citizens Bank Park, the event hosts over 40 different cheesesteak and philly food vendors, live music, a cheesesteak eating competition, kid’s zone carnival and MORE! Tickets range from a general admission ($20) which gains entry, or for $45-$65 you can get yourself Phillies game tickets, food samples and free parking. Vendors haven’t been announced yet, but festival partners include local radio stations, Herr’s potato chips and a ton of great local Philadelphia businesses. Nothing like cheesesteaks and a baseball stadium to really remind you that you’re soaking up Philadelphia culture.

TAPPED Fest @ Elmwood Park Zoo
September 24 in Norristown, PA
The perfect excuse for the Tasty Table team to return to our favorite zoo! TAPPED’s event at the zoo features over 100 beers, wines & ciders and tickets start at only $39! Enjoy unlimited tastings, as well as music and games. Also, not sure if we mentioned it.. it’s at a ZOO! You can check out our blog post about the experience we had catering here, or take advantage of this event and enjoy the food, fun and animal friends! “Enjoy a beer with a bison, an Allagash with an alligator, or a draft with a giraffe!”~

7th Annual Downingtown Fall Fest
September 25 in Downingtown, PA
Primarily hosted by Downingtown mainstay Victory Brewing Company, this event hosts everything from live music and great food and beer to shopping and blocks of vendors and food trucks. This is the seventh annual fest, and last year saw more than 5,000 guests in attendance each day. Families will enjoy the local crafts and business displays while adults will love the variety of delicious beer available.

SlyFox Brewing Company’s Can Jam
September 30 in Pottstown, PA
Sly Fox Brewing Company’s can jam is a music fest curated to feature independent talent, as well as a variety of fun events surrounding the concert. This year’s music lineup includes The Commonheart, RFA, John Train and Michael Tiernan. In addition to live music and great beer, the event also hosts the namesake outdoor game can jam in a big tournament environment.

This may seem like a lot but we’re ALWAYS looking for fun stuff like this happening around our establishment! Feel free to contact us with any other ideas or recommendations you might know about! VisitPhilly.com’s article on Oktoberfest provides a great list of upcoming beer events, including a ton that we haven’t included. We’ve barely begun to scratch the surface with how much Philadelphia and Chester County loves a good pint!
