The Biggest Wedding Food Trends of 2017

2017 is approaching fast. A new year approaching makes for new trends. We’ve become aware of these trends- including local food, popcorn, donuts, and pretzel walls. Trends fade out fast, so we have gathered the best of the best.

At Tasty Table Catering, we aim to incorporate the new trends that the new year brings into our menus. We hope that our clients take advantage of these growing ideas.

1. Local Foods

Many rich ingredients come from the Philadelphia area, including Kennett Square Mushrooms and New Jersey Tomatoes. Adding these delicious components to meals gives them a local flair. Using local ingredients not only help support the community but also adds to the meal. Opting for local food tends to be cost- effective, is less wasteful, and boosts the local economy. Popular dishes that include Kennett Square Mushrooms and Jersey Tomatoes are Chicken Marsala and Pasta Primavera. Many of Tasty Table’s dishes serve tomatoes and mushrooms- check out our buffet wedding menu.

2. Wall of Soft Pretzels

Not only are soft pretzels delicious, but arranging them on a wall makes them look beautiful too. Pretzel walls are a new concept to weddings, however they are growing significantly in popularity. Pretzels are great because they are not messy and they also fill up the stomachs of hungry guests. There’s also some some symbolism to the pretzel wall- the pretzel knot can symbolize the bride and groom “tying the knot”. Serve these deliciously warm treats with mustard, melted cheese or cinnamon sugar.
