If you’re planning a wedding, you know that rain is a possibility. While it can be frustrating to deal with, rainy weather doesn’t have to ruin your wedding photos. In fact, it can be an opportunity to capture some truly unique images. Here in Tasty Table Catering are four tips for making the most of your wedding photography on a rainy day!

Have a solid Plan B in place.

A lot of weddings venues have a Plan B in place in case it rains. Before you book your venue, make sure to ask about their Plan B options and see if they will work for your wedding. It’s also a good idea to have a contingency plan for your wedding photos in case the weather doesn’t cooperate. When considering the wedding Plan B location, make sure that you can really see your wedding happening there. Is it a place where you can imagine tying the knot with your significant other? If so, be sure to top it all of with a great catering menu, like the Tasty Table Catering gluten free and vegan menu!

Consider indoor architecture.

If it’s raining on your wedding day, you may want to consider taking your wedding photos indoors. Many wedding venues have beautiful indoor architecture that can make for stunning backdrops. Just be aware that indoor photos may have more angular compositions due to the lines, balance, and symmetry of the architecture. For example you might want to consider The Merion Tribute House! It’s a historic venue located on Philadelphia’s Main Line, suitable for weddings, social gatherings, and corporate events. It is influenced by the Arts and Crafts tradition of the early 20th century and features craftsmanship such as wood-beamed ceilings, slate floors, and a walk-in fireplace for cold or rainy days. It also has a wedding balcony that is well-suited for the toss of the bridal bouquet, isn’t it fantastic?

Don’t discount nighttime photos.

If it’s raining in the afternoon, you may want to consider taking your wedding photos later in the day. Nighttime photos can be particularly beautiful, and controlled lighting can help to create the perfect mood. You can also use sparklers or other props to add some light and romance to your images. Sometimes, couples just want a quick break from the reception to be alone and be themselves, and this is a great way to do it. If anyone asks where you were, you can just say you were with the wedding photographers taking pictures and no one will think anything of it!

Rent a tent.

If you’re worried about the rain, you can always rent a tent as a backup location for your ceremony or reception. Tents are a great way to add a touch of whimsy to your wedding and can be decorated to match your theme. Just be sure to check with your venue to make sure the indoor architecture allows a tent. We’ve fallen in love with the idea of tents every time we’ve encountered one. Whether it’s a rainy or chilly day, reception tents can be a lifesaver.

Rainy weather can be a challenge on your wedding day, but it doesn’t have to ruin your photos. By being prepared and staying flexible, you can still capture beautiful and memorable images, rain or shine and top it all of with the Tasty Table Catering Vegan and Gluten Free menu.
